![]() She has been active in a collaboration with UN Women, a United Nations initiative, on a project supporting entrepreneurship in sustainable energy in developing countries, as well as with Columbia’s Women in Energy initiative. She also substantially improved the diversity of the faculty and student bodies within her units, and she led efforts to achieve a cultural shift toward equity, inclusion and respect. “Chancellor Block and I are confident that under Alissa’s visionary leadership, UCLA Samueli will make even greater strides in advancing engineering education and research for the benefit of our society,” Darnell Hunt, UCLA’s executive vice chancellor and provost, wrote in a message to the campus.Īt Columbia, Park created highly interdisciplinary research and educational programs in sustainable energy and decarbonization, including the CarbonTech Development Initiative for translational decarbonization research, a collaboration between the Lenfest Center for Sustainable Energy and the Center on Global Energy Policy. She also is director of the Lenfest Center for Sustainable Energy, an executive committee member of The Earth Institute and Columbia Climate School, and a member of Columbia’s department of chemical engineering. Park, one of the nation’s leading experts on carbon capture and conversion technology, is currently the Lenfest Earth Institute Professor of Climate Change and chair of the department of earth and environmental engineering at Columbia University, where she has been a faculty member since 2007. I would say wait before buying the game before they completely overhaul some of the game mechanics and game balance.Ah-Hyung “Alissa” Park has been named the Ronald and Valerie Sugar Dean of the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering. It is still in very early developement regarding gameplay balance and overall feel. This game is extremely unpolished and not yet ready for major audience. And I'm talking about the easiest difficulty.Īll in all. If you don't research bigger ships and better weapons straight away, you will have very hard time competing with the AI. They also know immediately where your main star system is while you have no clue where they are coming from. Even in the easiest difficulty and largest start count, they have no hesitation to attack. ![]() Being able to build outpost repair stations is a must if this game wants to become even slightly popular and gain attention. Also the repair range is very short so it's tricky to get all your ships to repair properly. Taking a good 10 minutes for a ships to repair completely. You need to manually manouver them to your main system and to your repair station. You can construct only one Repair Station which HAS to be in your main system. This also prevented me from constructing more offensive ships to defend my outpost / mining fleet and losing the game. My resource output completely got stuck because the cargo ships wouldn't undock from the main station to get another mineral patch resulting in the destruction of my whole mining fleet. Mining ships getting stuck in unloading queue after producing too many cargo ships which transport minerals to your main resource facility. Not able to repair damaged buildings producing constant warning messages. And if you build far enough of the screen you accidentally hit the menu buttons instead of placing a building. I often times simply ran out of space to construct more buildings since you cannot zoom out in the view. Unable to zoom in the building construction view. Not being able to distribute tech, production or unit facilities makes it really hard to develop a proper RTS feel. ![]() I did not find a way how to construct buildings on other star systems. Only being able to develop your main star system. However I quickly noticed quite few issues with the game play which prevents proper gaming experience. The concept seems interesting and somewhat in depth already.
